Gina chose clay as a medium of expression after beginning her studies at Georgian College School of Design and Visual Arts in Barrie ON, first completing a diploma in residential Interior Design (1991) then, a three year program in Creative Arts (fine arts 1993). She was particularly interested in the history of furniture, craft and handmade objects, so furthered her studies at Sheridan College School of Crafts and Design in Oakville, ON (1996) where Ceramics continued to satisfy her inquisitive and creative nature.
For ten years Gina operated a large, oil-fueled, reduction kiln from her parent’s home in Severn Bridge ON and eventually moved to electric firing when she opened the studio at its present location.

In 2005 Gina returned to school to complete a Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Bachelor of Education at Nipissing University (2007/08). Today she is a member of the Ontario College of Teachers and works for the Simcoe County District School Board as an on- call supply teacher. She enjoys offering clay workshops to students at local elementary schools and teaching private pottery classes to small groups. Evening, adult classes at the studio are a particularly fun way for students to learn new skills, exchange ideas and get creative with clay.

At her studio, Gina continues to enjoy the combination of planned science-like experiments, pure happenstance and long-term artistic vision. At home she operates a small retail shop in the summer and on most Saturdays throughout the year. In keeping with her interests, in the spirit of handmade and antiquated objects, there are plans in the works for a reclaim gallery featuring vintage eclecticism, craft and plenty of pottery.
